Former elite pole vaulter Alhaji Jeng had many superlatives for Armand Duplantis after the Swede's superior EC gold on Saturday night.

- He is a one-of-a-kind.

There are so many obstacles in pole vaulting which is the most complicated event, but he masters it all.

That's what's so unique, that he doesn't miss a thing.

He rarely cancels a jump.

And he won't be at his very best now.

We can enjoy it for many years to come, he says lyrically.

"Just to enjoy"

After the jump over 5.90 which gave him the gold, he was very impressed.

- What makes it so impressive is that he is like a clock at the approach.

That is ridiculous, says Jeng after "Mondo's" jump over 5.90.

When he managed 6.06, he set a new championship record.

- A perfect jump from "Mondo".

Almost like the pole is a little soft, says Jeng after the jump that set a new championship record.

The 22-year-old won the gold in the competition where he jumped four jumps.

- You just have to enjoy yourself when you look at Duplantis.
