Femke Bol, 22, was the big favorite before the 400 meter hurdles final and the margin of victory was enormous.
She was over 1.5 seconds better than silver medalist Viktoria Tkachuk of Ukraine.
The bronze also went to a Ukrainian in the form of Anna Ryzhykova.
The Finnish Viivi Lehikoinen was sixth in the final.
Femke Bol has a chance for another medal tomorrow as she can be part of the Netherlands' team in the 4x400 meter final.
Bol has a personal record in the 400 meter hurdles which reads 52.03.
