A new club denies its efforts to include Ronaldo

Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of German football club Borussia Dortmund, denied reports that the club might make an offer to sign Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.

Today, during the presentation of the club's annual financial report, Watzke said: "Cristiano Ronaldo's joining Borussia Dortmund seems like a magical idea at first glance. I adore this player. He is the greatest player the world has ever produced."

He added: "The problem is that there is no contact with the player. Therefore, there is no transfer deal."

The American channel "CBS Sports" reported a few days ago that Borussia Dortmund constitutes the "last chance" for Ronaldo to leave Manchester United this summer.

The report added that Ronaldo, 37, is committed to leaving Manchester United this summer.

And the Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that Ronaldo still had two options, either to return to his former club, Sporting Lisbon, or to join Borussia Dortmund.

The newspaper, which did not mention the source such as CBS, added that contacts had already been made between Borussia Dortmund and Ronaldo.
