Since Monday, Portuguese rescue has been trying to find a 16-year-old Frenchman who disappeared off Faial, in the Azores archipelago, while he was snorkeling.

On Wednesday, the French Surfing Federation indicated that the young man was Jules Prou, a hope of the discipline, from the island of Ré.

According to the Portuguese authorities, the alert about the disappearance of Jules Prou ​​had been given "by a representative of a tourism company specializing in maritime activities".

“In agreement with the family, we will communicate on the ceremonies to come to honor the beautiful person that was Jules and to bring his memory to life”, communicated the French Surfing Federation.
