In the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, our national team lost to France and failed to advance to the quarterfinals.



The national team, led by coach Hwang In-sun, lost 1-0 to France Mbakem in the 29th minute of the second half in the third match of Group C in San Jose, Costa Rica.



After defeating Canada in the first match, Korea, which suffered two consecutive losses, remained in Group C 3rd place (3 points) with 1 win and 2 losses and did not get a ticket to the quarterfinals, which is given to 2nd place in Group C.



Our national team faced France on an equal footing, who had reached the semi-finals of three consecutive tournaments in the Under-20 World Cup, but it was not finished.



In the 13th minute of the first half, Lee Soo-in's powerful free kick went straight to the keeper, and Moon Ha-yeon's long-distance shot five minutes later was cleared by the opposing defense's head.



In the extra time in the first half, a decisive right-footed shot from front striker Dayoung Koh from inside the penalty box was saved by the goalkeeper.



The national team continued the offensive in the second half, but the goalkeeper continued to block Cheon Garam's consecutive shots in the early part of the second half.



And in the 29th minute of the second half, France allowed a counterattack and conceded the winning goal to Mbakem.



In the 38th minute of the second half, the national team tried to counterattack by replacing Koh Yu-na and Kim Myeong-jin, but in the end they could not open the goal and bowed their heads.



France advanced to the quarterfinals as 2nd place in Group C with 2 wins and 1 loss and 6 points.
