In principle, international tournaments are held every year, such as the women's "Billie Jean King Cup" and the men's "Davis Cup".



The Japan Tennis Association held an online press conference on the 18th and announced the new coach who will lead the Japanese national team in the national and regional competitions from next year.



According to that, the women are former professional tennis player Ai Sugiyama, who was active as a top player, winning three times in the women's doubles of the four major tennis tournaments, and the men are active professional tennis players and are limited to this season. Go Soeda, who has announced his retirement, will serve.



Sugiyama said in her online press conference, "I want to liven up the Japanese tennis world."



Her directorial term is for four years until 2026.
