Even though Sweden had a big game advantage against Latvia, it was far from a dominant effort from the Junior crowns.

Latvia shut down Sweden's offense well, and most of the play was at the rim.

1-0 came in the first period where Isak Rosén in the power play was able to break the deadlock when goalkeeper Bruno Bruveris did not see the puck, which meant that Rosén had a more or less open goal.

Sweden had difficulty creating more hot scoring chances in the second period, and instead of an extended lead, the equalizer came when Gustavs Ozolins found the net from the blue line.

In the third period, Sweden would get a dream situation with five minutes in the power play.

But then they barely managed to create a single scoring chance.

Instead, the match-deciding 2-1 would come with ten minutes remaining when Emil Andrae from blue found a gap under Bruveri's arm.

Sweden now faces the winner of the USA and the Czech Republic.
