When Armand Duplantis won the WC in Eugene earlier this summer, he took the last major gold he was missing.

Despite that, he has no problem motivating himself before another championship.

- Right now it's great fun competing and trying to jump as high as I can.

It feels easy to find motivation.

It's not a big problem, he says.

What do you want more, to win gold or aim for a new world record?

- When you are at the championships, the biggest goal is to win and take the gold.

If after that I can jump a little higher, I will always try to do it.

Duplantis, who is the big favorite in the EC, still believes he can jump even higher.

- The WC in Eugene was a pretty good hope.

It was the right place and good weather, everything was good.

But there is more to the idea, he says.

The pole qualifying starts at 10.50 tomorrow Thursday on SVT1.
