With a time of 13:21.13, Jakob Ingebritsen was the first to cross the finish line after the 5000 meter run in Munich.

It was expected for Ingebritsen, who won the WC at the distance earlier in the summer.

Less expected was that Andreas Almgren would hook on at the top.

He finished in fourth place but never really had a sense of a medal during the final lap.

However, Almgren set a new personal record with a time of 13:26.48.

Almgren had Swedish company in the final of Jonas Glans, who finished ninth, 13:32.71.
