It was only one approved jump for Thobias Montler in Monaco's Diamond League.

After five oversteps and a 7.96 jump, it was fifth place for the Swedish long jumper.

When the EC now begins in Munich, he hopes to sort out the problems with the approach, but to get that he tries not to think about the problems.

- Actually, I try to think as little as possible about it, because if I stand there on the track and think about it, it will be chaos.

I've talked to Yannick (Tregaro, the coach) about it, and I'll probably just let it go completely and run as usual and Yannick will move me as necessary, he tells SVT Sport.

Hope for better than the WC result

The WC was not a great success for Montler, where he finished eleventh after reaching the final only in the last jump.

Now he hopes for a more successful championship.

- Right now, the only focus is on the qualifier tomorrow, where I can hopefully solve it as early as possible.

I have not given up on the WC, but aim for the medals here as well, he says.
