Sarah Sjöström started a good Swedish evening at the swimming European Championships in Rome with her gold in the 50 meter butterfly.

In the team race 4x100 meters freestyle, the Swedish team had a good chance to take another medal.

Sjöström was first out with a good stretch and had the lead when she switched to Louise Hansson, who then switched to Sara Junevik who went out as leader.

In the last stretch, the inexperienced Sofia Åstedt lost the lead during her stretch, but Åstedt finished strongly and secured a Swedish silver.

- It was good, I felt that I had to fight the last meters, but it was fun to help the team.

A great feeling, says Sarah Sjöström after the race.

- It's great fun to see all the joy and be part of sharing it with the team, it feels really cool, says Sjöström

It was a happy Swedish team after the race and Sofia Åstedt, who had the last stretch, was very satisfied with her effort and had a hard time describing her feelings after the medal.

- I don't know what to say.

I feel everything right now, it feels great.

It's impossible to describe, completely sick, says Sofia Åstedt.
