Sarah Sjöström had the fastest time of all in the semi-finals and was favorite to take home the gold medal in the 50m butterfly final.
And the Swede got off to a good start and was able to quickly pull away from the rest of the starting field.
In the end, Sjöström took home the gold medal by far in an impressive time of 24.96 and secured another gold medal for the collection.
The star already has the world record in the 50 meter butterfly of 24.43.
Marie Wattel was second in a time of 25.33 ahead of Maaike De Waard in third place.
The other Swede in the final, Louise Hansson, who had the third fastest time in the semi-final, finished fifth in a time of 25.93.
