In the sunshine along the roughly nine-mile-long Vasalopp track, it looked for a long time as if SM winner Nellie Larsson would take home the victory.

But on the run it was awfully tight.

Larsson, Terese Andersson, Hildegunn Gjertrud Hovdenak and Sandra Salinger were all part of the small group that feverishly sprinted towards the finish - but in the end Salinger was the strongest and was able to cross the finish line in Mora as the winner.

- On the riot line, I felt that I have it today, I have it in my legs, says Salinger.

Then she, who won the race for the first time, had defeated not only the Swedish champion but also multiple Cykelvasan winner Jennie Stenerhag.

- Maybe it was unexpected for you but I have really dreamed about this and felt that I have had the capacity for a few years before as well, so for me they were really a goal to win today and the race has been rock tough.

I've dug deep from start to finish.

Second was Norwegian Hildegunn Gjertrud Hovdenak and third was Nellie Larsson.
