Ingemar Erlandsson came to Malmö FF as an 18-year-old, and in total there were 473 games for the sky blue between the years 1976 and 1987. During that period he won two SM golds and was part of bringing MFF to the European Cup final against Nottingham Forest in 1979.

"Malmö FF remembers Ingemar Erlandsson as a fantastic footballer and an extremely valued fellow human being who, with his warm personality and his great commitment, contributed to the association's development and success for almost five decades," writes the club.

Erlandsson made a total of 69 A-national matches (1978-1985) and was team captain during the period.

After his playing career, Ingemar Erlandsson continued to be involved in Malmö FF as a member of the association's board and then as chairman and convener of MFF's election committee.
