Zamalek is close to the league title.. The head of the referees committee resigns because of Al-Ahly

Yesterday, Zamalek continued its series of victories for the ninth match in a row in its journey to retain the title, with a broad victory over its guest Egypt, the clearing by five clean ones, including a hat-trick for Ahmed El-Sayed “Zizou”, to confirm the latter’s relegation to the second degree officially, in the competitions of the thirtieth stage of the Egyptian Football League.

The Tunisian Zamalek quintet Seif El-Din Al-Jaziri (25, 47), "Zizou" (45, 58, and 68 penalty kicks), moving away from the top scorer in the league with 19 goals.

With this result, Zamalek raised its score to 72 points in first place, away from its pursuit of Pyramids with seven points, despite the latter's victory over Mahalla 2-0 in the same round to hold on to its hopes of competing for the title.

On the other hand, the clearing balance froze at 15 points in the eighteenth and last place, to confirm its relegation to the Second Division for the first time since its rise to the Premier League in the 2009-2010 season.

Pyramids consolidated its position in the runners-up thanks to the South Africans Fagry Lakai (3) and Islam Issa (72).

Pyramids raised its score to 65 points in second place, while Ghazl El-Mahalla remained in the struggle to survive relegation, after its score froze at 30 points in 14th place.

On the other hand, the Egyptian Football Association announced accepting the resignation of international referee Essam Abdel Fattah from the presidency of the Referees Committee, against the background of arbitration problems in the league.

Abdel-Fattah had submitted his resignation from his position earlier in the wake of the crises that affected arbitration in a large number of league matches, in addition to the pressure that Al-Ahly placed on the referees committee, especially after he was subjected to wrong arbitration decisions that affected the results of his matches in the Premier League and kept him away from competing for Title.

Al-Ahly had demanded, in an official statement, the dismissal of the referees committee and the suspension and investigation of the video technology referee, Mahmoud Ashour, after he canceled from inside the video technology room a goal for Al-Ahly in the match against Farco in the twenty-eighth stage, which ended in a goalless draw.

Al-Ahly announced that it would not participate in any tournament organized by the Egyptian Football Association, whether the Egyptian Cup or the local Super, if its demands were not implemented.
