In the men's 100-meter semi-final of the YSL Solidarity Games held recently, Saudi Arabian 100-meter trapeze Abukar Mohammed ran a time of 9.96 seconds.

In the previous preliminaries, Qatar star and former Asian 100m record holder Ogunod ran a personal best of 9.98 seconds.

Inspired by the miracle of Su Bingtian's Tokyo Olympics, Asian 100-meter athletes are trying to approach the Asian limit of "Su Shen" 9.83 seconds.

After Su Bingtian, the Chinese 100-meter rookie needs to carry the banner of breaking the 10-second mark.

The overall strength of the Asian 100m has improved significantly

In this Games, the Asian 100m runners all performed well.

Among them, Ogunod ran 9.98 seconds in the preliminaries.

He also became the 11th person in Asian history to break the 10-second mark.

The Asian 100-meter record was snatched by the Chinese player from Ogunod before.

In the semifinals, Saudi Abukar Mohammed ran a personal best of 9.96 seconds.

This result also made him tied for fourth in the Asian 100m.

The top three in Asian history are Su Bingtian's 9.83, Aogu Nord's 9.91 and Shanxian Liangta's 9.95.

Recently, the overall strength of Asia's 100m has improved significantly.

From the old and strong Ogunod to the emerging Abukar Mohammed, including Japan with a 100-meter tradition, many runners ran within 10 seconds.

This poses a challenge to China's 100 meters, which has risen in the past 10 years.

  Su Bingtian's 9 seconds 83% "ceiling"

In August 2013, Zhang Peimeng ran 10 seconds in Moscow.

This has also become a clarion call for China's 100-meter impact to the 10-second mark.

In May 2015, Su Bingtian ran 9.99 seconds in Eugene, becoming the first Chinese to run the 10-second mark.

In June 2018, Xie Zhenye broke the national record with 9.97 seconds in the Montreuil race, becoming the second Chinese to run under 10 seconds.

Three days later, Su Bingtian ran 9.91 seconds in Madrid, greatly improving the national record and tying the Asian record, raising China's 100-meter level to the world's leading level.

In the 100-meter semi-final of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Su Bingtian ran 9.83 seconds in the confrontation with the world's masters, breaking the Asian record.

On the one hand, 9.83 seconds showed Su Bingtian's absolute strength; on the other hand, this result also greatly inspired the Asian 100-meter runners to work hard towards breaking the 10-second mark and even approaching Su Bingtian's record.

But judging from the current situation of China's 100 meters, 9 seconds 83 may become the "ceiling" of China's 100 meters for a long time.

In this World Track and Field Championships, only China's Su Bingtian passed the 100-meter cut line.

In the track and field world championships, Su Bingtian ran two shots, 10 seconds 15 and 10 seconds 30 respectively.

100-meter cutting-edge talents still need to speak with their achievements

In the past 10 years, it took a difficult climb to reach the Chinese 100m at a height of 9 seconds 83. Whether a rookie can carry the banner of "breaking ten to nine" depends on the next performance of the young 100m runners.

Recently, Chinese 100-meter athletes have gone abroad to compete.

27-year-old Tang Xingqiang led 21-year-old Chen Guanfeng, 20-year-old Deng Zhijian and 19-year-old Yan Haibin to run 39.74 seconds in the 100-meter relay race at the Italian Station; Shi Yuhao ran out of 100 meters in the recent European series. 10.15 and 10.50.

In addition, Su Bingtian also "hand-picked" his most optimistic successor-21-year-old Chen Guanfeng from the Guangdong team.

Su Bingtian believes that Chen Guanfeng is expected to run into the 10-second mark within three years.

Judging from Chen Guanfeng's current performance, he has surpassed Su Bingtian's achievements in the same age group.

Su Bingtian said that Chen Guanfeng's personal skills and comprehensive strength are very good, and he has run around 10.10 seconds several times, and he can run to 10.59 seconds at the age of 17.

Next, China's 100-meter cutting-edge talents represented by Chen Guanfeng still need to speak through their results.

Previously, Chen Guanfeng won the championship with a time of 10.06 seconds in the men's 100-meter final of the 2021 National Athletics Championships. He has also become the most promising rookie to break the 10-second mark.

With the fading out of veterans such as Su Bingtian and Xie Zhenye, Chen Guanfeng, Deng Zhijian, Sui Gaofei, Yan Haibin and other new 100m flyers must break the 10-meter mark to carry the Chinese men's 100m banner.
