The first meeting of the season between the teams ended with a victory for the Pirates 48-42.

But since then, the team from Motala has been drawn with injury concerns in the squad and came to Hallstavik with six straight losses behind them.

The Rospiggars, on the other hand, had Tomasz Gapinski and Szymon Wozniak back in the starting seven.

And the latter would be the big match winner of the evening.

Because after the Rospiggarna secured tonight's victory in the first nomination heat (46-38), the battle for the bonus point, which goes to the team that scores the most points over two games, was still alive.

Drama in the final nomination heat

Then the drama increased even more, when the drivers crashed into each other shortly after the start in heat 15 – with the consequence that Kim Nilsson was excluded from the restart.

Suddenly, Szymon Wozniak was alone against the two drivers from the Pirates (Oskar Fajfer and Piotr Pawlicki) in the decider.

Wozniak's solo show gave the Rospiggarna the bonus point

But it wasn't something that made Rospiggarna's experienced star driver lose his composure and Wozniak easily drove home the three-pointer that meant 49-41 and also the bonus point for Rospiggarna.

The team from Hallstavik is thus up to 11 points and strengthens its sixth place, which is also the last playoff place, in the table.

All the darker for the Pirates, who with three games left in the regular season must give everything to reverse the negative trend if the playoffs are to be secured.
