• Football Barça tenses the rope to the maximum with De Jong

Barça has already activated its fourth economic lever.

According to

Ser

, the entity chaired by

Joan Laporta

has made effective the sale of 25% of Barça Studios to the GDA Luma group, a company registered in Miami and owned by

Gabriel de Alma

, in turn owner of Cirque du Soleil, in exchange of 100 million euros.

That amount, however, would still not be enough to make effective the registration in

the League

of its five signings,

Kessié

,

Christensen

,

Raphinha

,

Lewandowski

and

Koundé

, that of the re-

signed

Dembélé

and that of the renewed

Sergi Roberto

.

In total, about 30 million euros would be missing that could come from the salary reduction that

Gerard Piqué

has already accepted as the one that, in principle, the captain,

Sergio Busquets

, will also accept .

This fourth lever comes after the activation in the first instance of the sale of 25% of the television rights for 25 years to the Sixth Street fund, which was made effective in two parts, and the subsequent sale of 24.5% of Barça Studios to Socios.com.

Three operations that, in this case, according to the figures provided by the entity, represented revenues of some 638 million euros

, to which 100 more would now be added with the sale of the remaining 25% of Barça Studios authorized by the committers for the club to remain its majority shareholder.

Increase club liquidity

Unlike what was agreed with the television rights,

the sale of Barça Studios is not for a specific period, but definitive

, although the Barcelona entity also has the possibility of repurchasing the sold shares.

Barça's fight against the clock to be able to make effective the registration of all the players that

Xavi Hernández

has for the season that starts, in his case, this weekend now focuses all the efforts of the Barcelona entity.

Once the economic levers authorized by the assembly have been activated, the club seeks to increase its liquidity through the renegotiation of the contracts signed by Gerard Piqué,

Marc-André ter Stegen

and

Frenkie de Jong

in October 2020, shortly before it was effective the resignation of

Josep Maria Bartomeu

.

Illegality in some renewals

The legal services of the club appreciate indications of illegality in these renewals, to which that of

Clément Lenglet

, currently on loan to Tottenham, would also be added, and has urged the footballers who are currently in the club's discipline to negotiate down again these contracts.

For now, Gerard Piqué would have already communicated his intention to accept said proposal and the club is waiting to know the response of the rest of those affected.
