Women's national team wins silver in the Special Olympics Unified Cup "Detroit 2022"

The United Arab Emirates women's football team for the UAE Special Olympics returned to the country, winning the silver medal in the Unified Special Olympics Cup, which was held in Detroit, Michigan, between July 31 and June 6.

The team included elite Emirati Special Olympics players with disabilities and mental challenges, and their non-disabled partners.

The team held a closed training camp for 12 days as part of the Abu Dhabi Sports Summer event, which was organized at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), after which it traveled to the United States to participate in the cup with 300 athletes from more than 20 delegations from all over the world.

The UAE Football Association, which followed the team's journey to Detroit and supported it with training, and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, which provided free training spaces and the Integrated Transportation Center, which provided transportation services during the camp, contributed to the support of the training camp.
