The men's discus at yesterday's WC competitions in Norrköping was something out of the ordinary, which ended with WC gold and a personal record for Simon Pettersson.

Today it was the ladies' turn in the discus ring, and even now it was a dramatic and high-class competition.

Eriksson took the lead

It ended with victory for the pre-favorite Vanessa Kamga, but it looked for a long time as if Mathilda Eriksson would take a thunderous gold.

MAI thrower Eriksson took the lead in the first round with a throw that measured 57.33, a personal record by almost two meters.

It later improved the hoin to 58.42 - but in the very last round, Hässelby's Kamga got a huge throw that measured a whopping 60.33.

“It was crazy!”

In addition to the SM gold, it was also an improvement on her two-year-old personal best, which was 60.01.

- You have to give people something to look at, so I wanted to keep you on your toes, she tells SVT Sport, regarding the fact that the last jump was the best, before she continued more seriously:

- It was crazy!

I felt that "today I throw far!"

I knew that, and just wanted to spank it!

I did that in the last one, then I had a very high adrenaline rush.

So much fun!

"Great fun yesterday!|

She admitted that yesterday's high-class men's final gave her extra tagging.

- It was really great fun yesterday!

What a level we have in Swedish throwing overall!

Just look at the WC, everyone is doing as well as they can.

It's shot put, hammer, discus.

And Kim Amb in spear!

We push each other, of course.

We are moving the branches forward, she says, and is looking forward to the upcoming EC in Germany:

- It will be great fun!

It's so crazy that it was four years since the last EC, and that it's now in Germany again.

It's just a matter of tagging, and there's nothing wrong with the shape.
