Grete Ahlberg sensationally made it to the stroke final in the World Cup - and once there she offered another 70-meter throw and finished in ninth place.

Today she defended her SM gold, but said afterwards that it had been a difficult time after the WC success.

- I'm absolutely insanely happy, actually.

After the World Cup, I have dipped completely.

Mentally and physically I was completely exhausted and I spent much, much more time than I thought recovering, she said.

Four meters from personal record

The winning score was 66.50.

It was over four meters shorter than the personal best she was noted for during the WC.

- If we're going to discuss numbers, I'd rather not talk about it, but it's the WC - it's about placement, she says, and tells us that she's not too worried about her form ahead of the upcoming EC in Munich:

- In the days before the SM, I felt that it was far too late.

I spent maybe five days after the World Cup just sleeping and then slowly coming back to training when my muscles and joints were strained.

So I'm pretty undertrained right now.

The day before yesterday I felt for the first time that I might be able to save this.
