After joining BK Häcken from FC Rosengård in 2021, Rytting Kaneryd has grown into a key player in the team.

She has also joined the Swedish national team, where the 25-year-old had a strong EC, even though there were no goals or assists from her.

Now it is clear that the big club Chelsea in the English Women's Super League, who won the league the previous season, is buying the outside midfielder from Häcken.

In Chelsea, Magdalena Eriksson is the team captain.

- I am incredibly happy to come to this fantastic club!

I'm looking forward to meeting my new teammates and starting to work towards our goals this season, says Johann Rytting Kaneryd to Chelsea's website.

Chelsea's coach, Emma Hayes, says that they have been watching Rytting Kaneryd for over a year.

- Her last year has been incredible.

She is extremely fast, direct and exactly the profile of player we have been looking for.

Johanna will contribute a different dynamic to the team and we really look forward to her career here with us, says Hayes.

Third export to England

From Häcken, they think it is sad to lose a top player, but they are happy about her development curve at the club.

- She shows that she is international and that she is at a very high level.

It's fun when BK Häcken players show themselves on the international stage, says Christian Lundström, football manager for women's elite in BK Häcken in a press release.

In the past year, Häcken has sold three players to the Women's Super League: Stina Blackstenius to Arsenal, Filippa Angeldahl to Manchester City and now Rytting Kaneryd to Chelsea.

- That players leave for top clubs in England shows that we have players at a very high level.

For players leaving us to take the next step, these are the types of clubs that apply.

We are not far behind, says Lundström.
