Maja Stark, 22, continues to impress on the international golf scene.

The Swede, who turned pro as recently as last year, has already won four times on the European Tour.

Now she has also had a dream start at the Women's Open major competition at Muirfield in Scotland.

The 22-year-old began the opening round with three birdies on the first nine holes.

Three shots under par was also the final score for the day after another bogey and a birdie on the final nine holes.

Sagström lost after double bogey

Madelene Sagström also started the first day strongly and was three shots under par after thirteen holes played.

But after a double bogey on the 14th hole, she is one stroke under par with a few holes to play.

The first round is currently underway and the Swedes Johanna Gustavsson, Anna Nordqvist, Linn Grant and Ingrid Lindblad are still out on the track.
