It looks good for the Swedes ahead of the Ski Classics season.

In the final kilometers of the five-mile race, Max Novak, Andrew Musgrave and Anund Riege broke away.

After a raging sprint duel, Novak managed to edge ahead of Briton Musgrave, and won the race by a tenth.

On the women's side, there was no talk of the matter.

The multiple world champion on roller skis, Linn Sömskar, won the race by over two minutes ahead of Norway's Astrid Öyre Slind who came second, riding the last 15 kilometers completely solo.

The next long-distance race takes place in Tanumshede in Bohuslän on August 14.
