Shabab Al-Ahly signs the best Syrian player in Asia

Shabab Al-Ahly Football Company announced today, Wednesday, that it has signed the Syrian international player Omar Khribin for one season on loan, coming from Al-Wahda Club, with whom he scored 15 goals and 8 assists last season.

Khribin, 28, won the title of top scorer in the Asian Champions League in 2017, and the award for the best player in the continent, becoming the first Syrian player to win the title, and the first non-Saudi player to win the award with Al Hilal.

Shabab Al-Ahly will be the third Emirati club that Khribin plays for, after he previously played for Al Dhafra also in the 2016-2017 season.

Khribin has a rich Arab experience, where he started with the Damascene unit (2009-2013), then he moved to the Iraqi Air Force (2013-2015), then his countryman Al Mina (2015-2016), and from there to Al Dhafra (2016-2017).

Khribin’s most important experience was with the Saudi Al Hilal, who joined his ranks in 2017. He won the league title three times in 2017, 2018, and 2020, the cup competition once in 2017, the Asian Champions League in 2019, and the Saudi Super Cup 2018.

Khribin was loaned during his time with Al Hilal to Egyptian Pyramids in 2019.
