• Almost two years before the start of the Paris Olympics, it will be possible to register in December for the ticket draw.

  • When asked, our readers intend to take advantage of the unique opportunity to attend the Games – sometimes even by spending lavishly.

  • If the "classic" events such as athletics or swimming are popular, some attract less, such as breakdance.

Less than two years from the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, spectators are already in the starting blocks.

From next December, the organizing committee will set up the draw to access the ticket office.

It is therefore already time, or almost, to choose from among the twenty-eight Olympic sports and the four additional sports on the program of the Paris Olympics, the first in the country since Albertville, in 1992.

Our readers, interviewed this week, intend to do their best to participate in the festivities, even if it means paying the price.

But if the "classic" disciplines such as athletics or swimming attract them, the additional sports that have appeared in Tokyo (climbing, skateboarding, surfing) and breakdancing, a great novelty of the Parisian edition, have more difficulty in arousing interest. enthusiasm.

put the price

Maryline explains that she wants to “attend historic competitions, especially athletics and rhythmic gymnastics.

My budget is less than 200 euros;

it's already very expensive for me alone, but it's only once in our life…” Like her, Judith intends to take part in the celebration without really counting: “The Games in Paris don't happen all the time!

So I don't really set myself a ceiling for the budget, even if I obviously don't see myself putting 950 euros in a ticket.

But putting a few hundred euros in all of my tickets, yes, definitely.

»

Others calculate a little more.

“As a big sports fan, if I could, I would attend as many people as possible!” explains Cynthia.

But being reasonable, handball and athletics are the ones I will try to buy tickets for.

As soon as we found out the games were taking place in France, we saved up and planned to spend our 2024 holidays in the heat of Paris.

"Nico, who spent the Tokyo Olympics "not sleeping", crosses his fingers so that the prices remain affordable: "It's once in our life that we will see the games in France, so I hope that places in less popular disciplines will be really affordable, even for finals…”

Classic or modern?

When choosing your event, the same ones often come up.

For Nico, "the Olympic Games are the classic events: athletic obviously, but also basketball, fencing, judo".

But he intends to take advantage of the event to discover as many of them as possible: “Others must be hyper spectacular in real life and I will probably only attend them on this occasion, canoe style or track cycling.

And maybe some new events, rugby 7 or climbing.

In short, I want to see as many as possible.

»

Like him, Judith intends to be tempted.

“Every four years, the Games are an opportunity for me to discover other disciplines and to let myself be carried away by competition,” confides Judith.

In Tokyo, I discovered climbing with a certain pleasure.

I like to watch tennis, horse-riding, show jumping, kayaking, cycling…” On the other hand, breakdance is rarely mentioned.

Cécile thus regrets the disappearance of karate in favor of this Parisian novelty: "It seems to me much more historic..." But who knows: some drawn will surely be tempted in December.
