Lewandowski and Bayern reconcile after moving to Barcelona

New Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski said that he bid farewell to his former colleagues at Bayern Munich and the club's workers during a short visit to the headquarters of the German champions on Tuesday, despite his departure with difficulty and his dispute with the management.

The Poland striker, who scored 344 goals for Bayern in 375 games, joined Barcelona in a deal worth around 45 million euros ($46.06 million) last month after clearly calling for his departure from the German club.

The 33-year-old and the Bayern management exchanged criticism over the handling of the deal, with Lewandowski saying there were too many "politics matters" on the part of the club trying to "create an argument" to sell him.

Bayern responded and said that this situation occurred due to the Polish striker's request to leave, despite his contract until 2023.

"Everything is fine. I met everyone and thanked them. I will never forget what I received here and what I lived through," Lewandowski told Sky television from his car before driving away from the club's headquarters.

"This is the most important thing for me. Last week was a bit complicated but sometimes it's part of football."

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic spoke to Lewandowski during his short visit, and the atmosphere between them calmed down.

"Robert came to my office to say goodbye and we spoke for 15 minutes," the former Bayern player said.

"We discussed everything and made everything clear. Robert did a lot of great things with Bayern and that's what he has to stay. He also knows what he should thank Bayern for."

Lewandowski won almost all domestic and international titles with Bayern, including eight league titles and three German Cup titles, as well as the Champions League and Club World Cup, among other titles he won there.

And Lewandowski is the second best scorer in the history of the German League behind the late Gerd Muller.
