Hee-chan Hwang (26) of Wolverhampton Wanderers, an English professional soccer player who suffered racism in a pre-season friendly game, condemned, "You shouldn't go through something like this."



Hwang Hee-chan wrote on Instagram today (2nd) (Korea time), "Thank you for sending so many messages of support to the club, staff, colleagues, and fans."



He also emphasized, "You have to enjoy this sport with a mature attitude.



He added, "I am against racism" in English.



Hwang Hee-chan started in the last friendly match of Wolverhampton's pre-season against SC Farence in the Portuguese Second Division at Algarve Stadium in Algarve, Portugal the day before.



According to British media such as The Athletic and Express & Star, Hwang Hee-chan heard racist insults from a Farence fan in the stands during the match.



Hwang Hee-chan informed the referee and Wolverhampton captain Conor Cody of the situation, but no action was taken immediately.



In a statement after the match, Wolverhampton said: "We are deeply disappointed that a player from our team was targeted by racism in a friendly match against Farence. will demand," he said.
