Perhaps the 18-year era of the reign of Leonid Fedun in Spartak has come to an end.

According to the media, in the near future the club will find a new president.

Moreover, it will be none other than the former head of the RPL and the ex-head of the refereeing committee of the RFU Ashot Khachaturyants.

And although the press service of the Red-Whites promptly responded to the information that appeared, it was not officially refuted.

“Even yesterday everyone called a different surname, before that they said something else.

We think that against the background of various rumors, such news will appear regularly, we take it calmly, ”the club stressed.

Khachaturyants himself, although he refused to comment on this topic, also did not deny the journalists' assumption.

The media are sure that the functionary will head Spartak.

So, according to the "Championship", Vagit Alekperov, who recently left the post of head of Lukoil, insists on his coming.

Khachaturyants, allegedly, has not yet made a decision and took time to think.

“He is the main candidate, but as of today, he has not given a final answer.

However, the likelihood that this will happen is high, ”said the source of the Championship.

The possible arrival of the ex-head of the RPL will be part of the process of transferring the red-whites under the wing of the oil company.

It is reported that they are currently engaged in the acquisition of shares.

This allegedly explains the absence of high-profile transfers - when assets are re-registered, there is a ban on conducting any transactions.

Lukoil intends to continue to carry out all the main processes, including the formation of the budget.

“The company has almost completed the design of the Spartak home stadium.

The assets of the main shareholders Vagit Alekperov and Alexander Matytsyn are also transferred to Lukoil.

At the same time, there is a possibility that some part of Fedun will remain, ”the source added.

According to Metaratings, the acquisition of Otkritie Arena from Fedun will cost the company between $90 million and $100 million. But the deal must first be approved by the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

It is noted that Fedun at first will continue to advise new leaders as a person deeply immersed in the process.

As one of the reasons for his departure, the desire to move to Cyprus with his family is called.

The main burden in this case will fall on Matytsin.

The general director Yevgeny Melezhikov will also keep his post.

Rumors that Fedun could leave the club appeared repeatedly during his reign.

Sometimes it even reached specific statements on his part.

For example, in 2015, after another unsuccessful season, the functionary hinted that he was ready to hand over the reins of government to other people.

“I sincerely worry with all my heart and root for the fate of Spartak.

I understand that it is time to give authority to professionals.

Maybe they will be more successful and competent and lead the people's club to new titles.

God bless Spartak,” he stressed.

A few weeks later, Sergei Rodionov took the post of general director, and Dmitry Alenichev became the head coach.

Nevertheless, Fedun continued, as before, to control all processes.

Two years later, Spartak became the champion of Russia for the first time in 16 years, and also won the country's Super Cup.

In 2019, after another attack on him, the president made a curious statement about his desire to “let the team go free” in four years – to hand it over to the fans.

“When we complete all the infrastructure changes and, I hope, look for new sources for real self-financing that will not depend on shareholders, the club will be ready ... And today my thesis is that Spartak should be owned by fans.

Not Peter Aven, who walked, looked, but did not spend anything.

Not everyone else who is into fantasies.

None of them will give a penny to Spartak, you need to understand this.

Except me.

Therefore, I can’t just leave my offspring, my love.

This is not a spontaneous decision.

We studied for a long time, looked at all the examples - Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and some American clubs.

As a result, they came to the conclusion that Spartak is a people's team, and it should be controlled by the people, ”he explained his position.

The latest information about Fedun's departure appeared immediately after winning the Russian Cup at the end of May this year.

Commenting on the success of the team, Fedun uttered the words about the "end of the cycle", which many perceived as a hint of resignation.

Almost immediately, insiders reported that the owner and his wife, Zarema Salikhova, would indeed step down from the management of the club in the near future, although they would retain a share of the shares.

Financing should be taken over by Lukoil.

These processes, according to the media, are taking place at the moment.

As for Khachaturyants, he brightly broke into domestic football, in 2019 he headed the Referee Committee of the RFU and the Expert Referee Commission under the president of the federation Alexander Dyukov.

In these positions, he quickly gained authority.

Many teams in the Premier League noted that bias had disappeared from the actions of the referees.

At the same time, he had practically no connection with sports before, although, according to him, he played for the Kislovodsk football team as a child.

In the past, Khachaturyants headed Sberbank Capital LLC, the investment policy department of the Ministry of Economic Development and the department of the Federal Target Program "State Border of the Russian Federation" of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

In the fall of 2021, the functionary, on the wave of success, headed the RPL, replacing Sergei Pryadkin.

Then few could imagine that he would hold a responsible post for less than a year.

In the summer, Khachaturyants unexpectedly announced his resignation.

“My team and I managed to put the league and interaction with its clubs on a new track.

We have launched and continue the transformation of the RPL, business processes are being established.

We signed contracts with new reliable partners and sponsors, which allow the clubs to stand firmly on their feet and look to the future with confidence.

This, of course, is of key importance in our economic realities, ”Khachaturyants summed up the work.

It is curious that Fedun publicly supported his colleague after his resignation.

In his opinion, the functionary was effective and managed to increase RPL funding by an order of magnitude and negotiate solid contracts with sponsors.

However, judging by the data of the BRIEF Telegram channel, another former head of the RPL, Pryadkin, can also head Spartak.

Allegedly, Matytsyn is lobbying for his candidacy.

Together with him, Thomas Zorn expects to return to the club, who previously held the position of general director in the camp of Muscovites, and now the sports director in Lokomotiv.
