Barcelona ended the pre-season stage in the United States with a 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls, today, Sunday, with goals by Ousmane Dembele and Memphis Depay, but it is remarkable that newcomer Robert Lewandowski continued to miss many opportunities.

The former Bayern Munich scorer failed to score in two friendly matches against Real Madrid and Juventus, and the matter was repeated in front of New York, so that coach Xavi faced questions from journalists about the condition of the Polish star.

"It's normal for him to feel a little frustrated, because he needed to score to enjoy, this happened before with Luis Suarez and then with Ferran Torres, he will score goals later," Xavi said.

"You have to keep giving him confidence, it's a friendly match and I'm not worried, he scores in training."

During his time with Bayern, Lewandowski scored 344 goals in 375 matches, the second highest goal scorer in the history of the Bundesliga.

Barcelona concluded many deals this summer, most notably Lewandowski alongside winger Rafinha, defenders Andreas Christensen, Jules Conde and midfielder Frank Kessie, to compensate for the disappointing last season after failing to win any title.
