On July 31st, the final of the West Tokyo tournament, the final remaining local tournament, was held on July 31st for the summer national high school baseball tournament, and 49 representative schools were present.



Of these, four schools, Sapporo Otani High School in Southern Hokkaido, Meishu Hitachi High School in Ibaraki, Sha High School in Hyogo, and Teikyo 5th High School in Ehime, are one less than last year.



Both have participated in senbatsu tournaments.



Participating in the spring and summer consecutively are Seiko Gakuin in Fukushima, Meishu Hitachi High School, Nishogakusha University High School in East Tokyo, Yamanashi Gakuin, Nihon University Mishima High School in Shizuoka, Seiryo High School in Ishikawa, Tsuruga Kehi High School in Fukui, and Shiga. There are 13 schools: Omi High School, Osaka Toin High School, Tenri High School in Nara, Naruto High School in Tokushima, Kyushu International University High School in Fukuoka, and Arita Kogyo in Saga.



The most appearances in this tournament are 30 times at Prefectural Gifu Commercial, and the longest appearance in a long time is Hiroshima's Eishin High School, the second time in 48 years.



In addition, teams that have won Koshien in the spring and summer will also participate, with Chiben Wakayama High School aiming for consecutive championships, and Osaka Toin High School aiming for consecutive spring and summer championships.
