Egyptian star Mohamed Salah led Liverpool to crown the Charity Shield Cup after beating Manchester City today, Saturday, in a match that took place at King Power Stadium in Leicester.

The match between Manchester City, who won the Premier League title last season, and Liverpool, the FA Cup holder.

Liverpool entered the match strongly and tried early to reach the Brazilian Ederson goal, and the attempts succeeded in Trent Alexander-Arnold scoring the first goal in the 21st minute after a decisive pass from Salah.

Attempts by Manchester City's newcomer, Erling Haaland, failed to equalize, and the first half ended with Liverpool advancing.

In the second half, substitute Julian Alvarez scored the equalizer for Manchester City in the 70th minute.

Salah gave Liverpool the winning goal in the 83rd minute through a penalty kick.

New striker Darwin Nunez consolidated Liverpool's progress by scoring the third goal in the third minute of stoppage time to give Liverpool its first title of the new season, and Salah gave Salah the only title he lacked with Liverpool.

Liverpool is looking to overcome last season's disappointment when it lost the English Premier League title in the final round and lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid, and coach Jurgen Klopp is looking forward to competing for all titles.
