Lots of falls

As a result of this massive fall, some runners were injured.

This is the case of Emma Norsgaard, hit in the left shoulder.

The Dane was taken care of by medical assistance but finally had to give up.

Chantal Blaak was also treated for a forearm injury.

But unlike her compatriot, the 2017 road race champion was able to continue the race.

No favorite of this women's Tour suffered the consequences of this collective fall.

The reactions have not been lacking on social networks.

Some comments highlight the significant number of falls since the start of this women's Tour de France.

During the second stage, Marta Cavalli (FDJ-Suez Futuroscope) had to give up after a violent fall.

On Tuesday, the Spanish champion Mavi Garci crashed into her training car (UAE).

She was able to leave… But the disaster did not go away.

This 5th stage was also marked by an astonishing finale.

The Italian Elisa Longo Borghini, 4th in the general classification and one of the favorites of the competition, branched off towards the lane intended to evacuate the racing vehicles which was 400 m from the finish line.
