The Frenchman, Paul Pogba, is facing a difficult situation, weeks after joining the Italian club Juventus, as he is required to make a decision that may affect his chances of participating in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Pogba suffered a knee injury that prevented him from completing the preparatory round for Juventus in the United States of America, and the club explained that the tests showed that the French player suffered from an injury to the meniscus of the right knee.

The Italian club said that Pogba will undergo further examinations to determine the appropriate treatment and the period of his absence from the stadiums, but the Italian newspaper "La gazzetta dello sport" revealed details of the injury and its seriousness.

two options

The newspaper pointed out that Pogba has two options, the first is to undergo surgery to get rid of the injury permanently, but this will mean his absence from the stadiums for a period of up to 4 months, which means his absence from the World Cup in Qatar and his failure to defend France's world title.

She indicated that the second option for the French player is to undergo treatment that may allow him to return to the stadiums at a faster time, but this option includes a risk of aggravating the injury in the future.

The newspaper said that the Juventus administration decided to use a specialist doctor from France who had previously worked with Pogba in order to provide an additional opinion, before deciding on the most appropriate option to deal with the injury of the French midfielder.

Pogba, 29, had returned to Juventus a few weeks ago in a free transfer deal after the end of his contract with Manchester United, and participated mainly in the match that ended with Juventus' victory over Mexican Guadalajara 2-0 in the US state of Nevada last Saturday.

The French player missed most of the last season with Manchester United due to injury, and his performance declined in the past seasons due to injuries and technical decisions of the coaches, and he hoped that his move to Juventus would be an opportunity to return to brilliance, benefiting from his first successful experience with the "Old Lady" club.

Pogba scored 34 goals and gave 39 assists in 176 games with Juventus between 2012 and 2016, and was preparing to participate with coach Massimiliano Allegri's battalion, which is seeking to regain the Italian league title, which was absent from the club's coffers in the past two seasons.

Juventus will start its new season in the Italian League against Sassuolo on August 15.
