The first meeting ended with a victory for Djurgården 2-1 away from home.

In the return against Croatian Rijeka, with the Allsvenskan victory against Häcken in the back and in front of a large crowd at home (18,605 spectators), it was a victory again for the Blue Stripes.

The center back stayed forward

The match was scoreless for a relatively long time.

But in the 56th minute, team captain Magnus Eriksson hit a corner from the right, which first fell in front of the feet of Albin Ekdahl, who was also pulled down in the penalty area.

But the ball was still alive and who stayed forward in the box then if not Isak Hien.

The centre-back, who has shown great form lately, rushed forward and thundered the ball into the goal from close range.

"Extremely satisfied with my effort"

After the match, he was, unsurprisingly, happy with the outcome.

- To be able to play matches like this, score goals like this and perform like this... I am extremely satisfied with my effort and also that of the boys, says Isak Hien.

Inspired by the lead, goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström paved the way for the 2-0 goal with a great throw across half the pitch to Haris Radetinac who found a free Emmanuel Banda.

The 24-year-old thanked and accepted, looked up and neatly put in 2-0 with his left foot.

Elfsborg did not manage to turn around the heavy disadvantage

The result means a total of 4-1 in matches and for Djurgården, either Sepsi from Romania or Olimpija Ljubljana from Slovenia await.

They play their match in parallel and it is currently 3-3 in total after normal time.

For Elfsborg, a minor miracle was needed to keep the European trip alive.

The first meeting with Molde ended in a crushing 4-1 loss for the Borås team.

But instead, the Norwegian series leader was the strongest again and won 2-1.
