The president of Atletico Madrid resolves the controversy over the signing of Ronaldo

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo commented for the first time on the news linking his team to the signing of Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, during the current summer transfers.

It is known that Ronaldo is seeking to leave Manchester United this summer, as he wants to play in the Champions League competition, which United failed to qualify for by being satisfied with sixth place in the Premier League standings last season.

Several recent press reports indicated the possibility of Ronaldo, aged 37, moving to Atletico Madrid in the current summer transfer period.

But Cerezo ruled out concluding that deal, as he responded to the Spanish program "El Partidazo de COPE": "I don't know who invented the story of Cristiano Ronaldo, it is definitely (news) not true."

He added, "It is practically impossible for (Ronaldo) to come to Atletico Madrid."

It is noteworthy that Ronaldo had defended the colors of Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018, and led him to win several matches against his arch-rivals Atlético Madrid. The "Don" also entered into skirmishes with Atletico fans after the end of a match between Real and "Rokhi Blancos" in the Champions League.
