After years of oblivion, the old Lightning Seeds song "Three Lions", which was released in connection with the football European Championship in 1996, has gained a solid foothold in English football culture again.
During last year's European Championship for men, it was basically the only thing the English fans sang, and this year's European Championship for women has been no exception.
But now the English star Fran Kirby is speaking out.
- I know that it irritates and provokes some teams and media persons from other countries.
I know it gets the home fans going, it gets them singing and I know they have a good time, but I also know it makes the opponents extra motivated, says Kirby according to VG.
