The Qatar Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, which is responsible for organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, announced that next Sunday, July 31, will be the last date to apply to volunteer in the tournament, while interviews with applicants will conclude on August 13. The committee said in an official statement, today, Monday, that the number of volunteers who will participate in supporting the operational aspects of the Qatar 2022 World Cup will reach 20,000 volunteers in the tournament, which will be held in the Arab world and the Middle East for the first time in history. Volunteers will be a pivotal and active element in organizing the tournament's activities inside its eight stadiums, which are built according to the highest international standards, or outside in fan areas and accommodation, by taking over more than 30 different roles through which they provide support to 45 operational aspects of the tournament.

The International Football Association (FIFA) had announced the opening of applications to participate in the volunteer program for the Qatar World Cup 2022, during a special ceremony held last March in the open theater in the Katara Cultural Village.

The program has witnessed interviews with thousands of candidates from more than 170 countries since the mid-May of last year when the volunteer center opened in Doha.

Faisal Al Mohannadi, who previously volunteered in sporting events and is currently involved in supporting volunteers joining the program, expressed his happiness with this role, which allows him to participate in a historic tournament that attracts the attention of the whole world.

Those interested in volunteering should register online, fill out the registration application form, participate in assessment trials through an online game, and book an appointment for an interview.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older by October 1, and applicants must be fluent in English conversation and commit at least 10 shifts during the tournament. Candidates should note that some volunteer roles will start before October 1 next October.
