Kajsa Bergqvist came to SVT's studio in Eugene shortly after Duplanti's World Cup win and had barely recovered.

- It's a little difficult with the pulse now.

It shines fast.

It is such an incredible "adrenaline rush" when there is a historic moment like this for a Swedish track and field athlete.

It means a great deal to Swedish athletics to have such a role model – the world's greatest athlete and a world star outside of athletics, she says.

The national captain praises Duplanti's performance at the Indoor World Championships earlier this year, where he also won gold and broke the world record.

- He has the kind of focus that no one else can beat in any discipline and maintains such a level.

He's in a different division than the others he's jumping against right now.

Bergqvist is impressed by the calm Duplanti exudes, despite the great pressure he has to perform.

- He is super cool, very calm, doesn't get excited unnecessarily.

He has been in an incredibly beautiful harmony as I experience it.

Armand Duplantis took gold and improved his own world record to 6.21.
