Indycar was run in Iowa on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Overall leader Marcus Ericsson started with an eighth place on Saturday and followed it up with a sixth place on Sunday.

- We missed out on a top 5 finish today, but Jimmie (Johnson) was really fast, especially at the end, and I didn't manage to keep him behind me, says Ericsson in a press release.

Mexican Pato O'Ward won ahead of Australian Will Power, who with yesterday's second place collected 14 points on Ericsson at the top of the championship.

Currently, only eight points separate the leader Ericsson and the runner-up Power.

But even though the lead shrank, Ericsson is satisfied with the weekend.

- We knew that this is probably the track that suits us the worst, so to come away with a sixth and an eighth place while maintaining the lead in the championship is definitely something that we look at positively, says Ericsson.

Rosenqvist bounced back

Felix Rosenqvist bounced back after Saturday's crash and finished seventh on Sunday.

- We had a very good car here in Iowa.

I was aiming for top three today, but unfortunately we had a problem with the brakes and I struggled to stop the car in both of my last two pit stops despite braking extremely early.

We lost valuable time there - but the car was fantastic, says Rosenqvist in a press release.
