The Belgian Wout van Aert (Jumbo) won Saturday July 23, 2022 in Rocamadour the 20th and penultimate stage of the Tour de France cyclist, a time trial of 40.7 kilometers.

His Danish teammate Jonas Vingegaard, second in the stage, secured his yellow jersey as leader of the general classification on the eve of the finish in Paris.

Sixth success for the Jumbo team in the 2022 Tour de France cyclist: the Belgian Wout van Aert won the 20th and penultimate stage of the Grande Boucle on Saturday July 23.

A 40.7 kilometer time trial in Rocamadour after which his teammate Jonas Vingegaard finished second.

The Dane thus secured his yellow jersey on the eve of the arrival in Paris.

Wout van Aert repeated his performance from last year, when he won the last stage of the Tour de France in Saint-Émilion.

The Belgian then won the last stage on the Champs-Élysées.

South African Louis Meintjes 8th

Aged 27, van Aert won for the third time since leaving Denmark.

He signed his ninth success in the Tour and joined Pogacar in this table.

In the general classification, Jonas Vingegaard now precedes the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar by 3 minutes, 34 seconds and the Briton Geraint Thomas by 8 minutes and 13 seconds.

Colombian Nairo Quintana lost fifth place to Russian Aleksandr Vlasov.

Romain Bardet, second Frenchman behind David Gaudu (fourth), nibbled a rank to rank seventh.

South African Louis Meintjes moved up from sixth to eighth place.
