Barcelona needs 100 million euros, and this is the reason for Messi's departure

Press reports said today, Saturday, that Barcelona still needs at least 100 million euros ($102 million) in order to be able to register its new players and comply with the requirements of the Spanish Football League.

Barcelona explained earlier that he suffers from serious financial problems, yet the club spent a large amount of money in the current summer transfer period, concluding several deals, most notably contracting Polish sniper Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich for 50 million euros.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann expressed his astonishment at how Barcelona concluded these contracts, even though his debts are said to have amounted to one billion and 350 million euros.

Barcelona sold an additional 15% of the TV rights for its matches in the next 25 years, to global investment company "Six Street" on Friday, after it sold it 10% of the rights last month.

This operation saved Barcelona money, but the newspaper "Sport" indicated that the Catalan club still needed more money to comply with the financial regulations of the Spanish Football League, which is the reason why the team allowed the departure of Argentine star Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain last year.

According to the newspaper "Sport", Barcelona wants to sell a minority stake of no more than 49.9 percent of the club's licensing and trade unit.

Barcelona is expected to earn about ten million euros from its current preparatory camp in the United States of America.

Barcelona may resort to selling some of its players, for example, allowing Frenkie de Yang to move to Manchester United in order to save money, at a time when Catalan media reports indicated that Barcelona is looking to sign another player, amid speculation about his interest in the heart of Athletic Bilbao's defense, Inigo Martinez.
