At the Fencing World Championships, Sera Song won the gold medal in the individual event for the first time in 20 years as a Korean female athlete.

She started out specializing in team events and she became a world champion.

She called Sera Song and she met in the finals with N'Dolo of Germany, who came up by defeating world number one Choi In-jeong.

She led by one point before 40 seconds into the end and she allowed a tie in the last minute, which was taken into overtime.

She and she drew an exhilarating finish with 11 seconds left in overtime, ending the win 11-10.

Sera Song, a member of the silver medal in the team event at the Tokyo Olympics last year, was ranked 'Number 3' in her solo event after Injeong Choi and Youngmi Kang.

It is the first time in 20 years since Hyeon-hee of Epee in 2002 that Korean women's fencing won the individual world championships.

[Sera Song / National Fencing Representative: I am so happy that I cannot express it in words.

I heard that the women's épée won the first time in 20 years, but it seems to be a more valuable medal as it writes a new history.]
