Sebastien Haller scored goals for Ajax last season, 34 in 42 matches, and showed, among other things, the class in the Champions League.

In the world's best tournament, the 28-year-old scored eleven goals in eight matches.

A couple of weeks ago, Borussia Dortmund bought him out for about SEK 370 million, as a replacement for Erling Braut Haaland.

But now the player and the club have received very heavy news.

At Dortmund's pre-season camp in Switzerland, a tumor was discovered in the testicles during a medical examination and Haller has therefore left the camp.

- This news today came as a shock to Sebastien Haller and to all of us.

The whole BVB family wishes Sebastien a full recovery as soon as possible and that we can hug him again soon.

We will do everything in our power to ensure that he receives the best possible treatment, says the club's sports director Sebastian Kehl to their website.

Sébastien Haller was raised in AJ Auxerre and has also represented Utrecht, Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham in his career.
