Ahmed Yahya, goalkeeper of the Egyptian club Al Ittihad of Alexandria announced his retirement after the fierce attack he was subjected to by his team's fans against Ceramica in the Egyptian Premier League, despite the death of his brother.

Ahmed Yahya wrote on his Facebook page, saying: "Thank you, the fans of Egypt, for the support and assistance. Thank God for all your efforts, and God does not show you anything bad or bad in your dear, Lord."

He added, "After yesterday's events, I decided to retire from football for good, and we belong to God and to Him we shall return, and when God meets the opponents."

The match, which ended with the Alexandria team losing by five clean, witnessed a major crisis between the fans of the Alexandrian team and Ahmed Yahya after the fifth goal, as Ahmed Yahya asked to leave the match amid crying after the mass attack on him, as the player participated in the match after the death of his older brother.

Ten minutes before the end of the match, Yahya decided to leave the stadium because of the abuse against him in the stands, and his voice was heard on television saying that he would not play football again, while he was crying.
