The National Olympic Committee has signed an Olympic grant agreement provided by the Olympic Solidarity Committee to seven athletes from four different federations, with the aim of preparing and qualifying them to participate in the “Paris 2024” Olympic Games.

The list of athletes selected for the grant includes: Saif bin Fattis, Ibrahim Khalil and Yasmine Tahlak from the Shooting Federation, Fatima Al Abdouli and Sultan Al Ali from the Taekwondo Federation, weightlifter Mai Al Madani from the Weightlifting Federation, and cyclist Youssef Mirza from the Cycling Federation.

The signing ceremony of the agreement at the headquarters of the Olympic Committee in Dubai was witnessed by the Executive Director of the Committee, Mohammed bin Darwish, representatives of sports federations and some of the athletes nominated for the Olympic grant.

The Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Olympic Committee, Engineer Azza bint Suleiman, stressed the importance of signing this agreement, which supports the athletes in their journey towards qualifying for the Paris Olympics, after they were chosen by the Olympic Solidarity Committee in coordination with the international sports federations for each game.

She said: "We aspire to reach the largest possible number of participants in the upcoming Olympics, through qualification cards, and this grant contributes to intensifying the advance preparation of all athletes from around the world, to ensure that the desired levels of readiness are reached."

She added: "The National Olympic Committee is keen to implement practices that serve athletes, based on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Committee, to provide all means and harness all capabilities for the people of the country who compete in the name of the UAE and raise its flag in the forums. all".
