The Tour de France peloton had to make an unexpected stop about forty kilometers from the finish in Megève.

The 10th stage was interrupted for almost a quarter of an hour by a small group of demonstrators present on the road.

A group of pro-climate activists, called "Last Renovation", claimed responsibility for the operation on social networks.

Bettiol had made his way

The race was neutralized and a new start was given, respecting the gaps recorded at the time of the stop, announced race management.

The leading runner, the Italian Alberto Bettiol (EF Education), was able to cross this roadblock formed by demonstrators, apparently half a dozen people seated on the road, through a curtain of smoke bombs.

Bettiol was stopped a few moments later to be able to respect the gaps, which were around twenty seconds over the 24 pursuers and almost seven and a half minutes over the peloton.
