There were 21,342 spectators on site in Sheffield in Sweden's European Championship premiere against the Netherlands and many Swedish fans on site to support the Swedish team.

In the first half, the Netherlands was hit early by a heavy break when goalkeeper Sari van Veenendal was forced to break the match after being injured in a collision.

It was Jonna Andersson who scored Sweden's first goal in the European Championships.

After a strong preparation by Kosovar Asllani where she tunneled a Dutch defender and found Asllani in to Andersson who was free in front of goal and shot in 1-0. 

But just a few minutes into the second half it was acknowledged.

Via a Swedish leg, the ball ended up with Jill Roord who just outside the penalty area shot the ball into goal behind Hedvig Lindahl in Sweden's goal.

Both teams were on for a winning goal in the end.

Fridolina Rolfö was close to Sweden with a good shot that was saved to the corner by the Dutch goalkeeper.

There were no more goals in the match that ended 1-1.
