Ons Jabeur, world number two, from Tunisia got an unexpectedly tough Wimbledon semi-final against German Tatjana Maria who is 102-ranked in the world.

The victory numbers were eventually written 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in favor of the Tunisian.

Jabeur is thus the first African woman to reach a final, in singles tennis, in a grand slam tournament during the open era.

- I want to see more Arab and African players on the tour.

I love the sport and want to share the experience with them, says Jabeur after the match.

German Maria stood for a strong tournament where she knocked out highly ranked players in round after round.

And after two sets of the semifinals, it looked like it could be another landslide victory for her.

However, Jabeur wanted something different and eventually won the third set by a clear margin.

- Physically, Tatjana is a beast.

She's not giving up - I thought she would give up.

Everything with her out there is impressive, says Jabeur.

In the second semifinal, Elena Rybakina, from Kazakhstan, and Simona Halep from Romania will meet.
