Before a quarter was played, Norway had gone up in a two-goal lead.

First Julie Blakstad made it 1-0 and just minutes later Frida Maanum put another after Norway had been able to break a play early.

Maanum just needed to roll the ball into an almost open goal.

After half an hour, Norway also received a penalty.

After a video review, it was found that the ball had taken on a Northern Irish arm.

Northern Ireland goalkeeper Jacqueline Burns was on Caroline Graham Hansen's penalty, but it went in and it was 3-0.

Historical goal

Just four minutes into the second half, Northern Ireland still managed to get a surprising reduction.

After a short tussle with the defender, Guro Pettersen finally tucked the ball home.

The goal was Northern Ireland's first in a major championship of all time and they really celebrated.

But that joy died quickly when Chelsea winger Guro Reiten made it 4-1 for Norway.

The star left in tears

In the 70th minute, the Norwegian star Ada Hegerberg had a ball in goal, but it was rejected due to offside.

At the end of the match, Nordriland went on another blow.

Their superstar Simone Magill injured herself and left the pitch in pain and tears.
